A fresher resume introduces what you can contribute before you have a long employment history. The aim is to make relevant evidence easy for an employer to find. A paid template is not required: start with a readable structure, use your own information and follow the vacancy instructions.
Choose a free resume format that fits your experience
For a first job, a useful order is contact details, a short profile, education, projects or internships, and relevant skills. If an internship is your strongest evidence, move it above education. Use one consistent date format and clear headings. One page can be a practical starting point for an early-career applicant, but follow the employer's requirements and do not squeeze important information into unreadably small text.

Write a profile with evidence, not a list of adjectives
Avoid an opening such as “hardworking individual seeking a challenging opportunity.” Instead, name the kind of work you want, a skill you can demonstrate and a relevant project. Keep it accurate and specific to the vacancy.
Illustrative example: “Commerce graduate interested in junior operations roles, with experience organising a college event registration spreadsheet and checking participant records. Comfortable using spreadsheet filters and explaining updates to a team.” This is fictional sample wording, not a statement about your qualifications. Replace it with your own evidence.
Turn a college project into resume experience
Explain the goal, your personal contribution, the tools you used and the result you can support. Separate your contribution from what the whole team did. If you did not measure an improvement, describe the completed work rather than inventing a percentage.
Example project entry
Illustrative project: college event registration tracker
Created a spreadsheet with participant names, registration status and payment-check columns for a student event. Used filters to identify incomplete entries and shared a review list with the organising team. Checked the final participant list before registration closed.
For a developer role, an entry could instead describe a real website feature you built, the technologies you used, the browser checks you performed and a link to a working demo. Only list a tool or result if you can explain it in an interview.
Match skills to the job description
Read the employer's posting and identify a few requirements supported by your coursework, internship, volunteering or projects. Use the employer's terminology where it accurately describes your experience. Do not repeat a keyword throughout the document or claim a skill just because it appears in the advertisement.

Before sending your job application
- Confirm the vacancy on the employer's official careers page.
- Follow the requested file type and naming instructions.
- Remove placeholder fields, unsupported claims and unnecessary identity or bank information.
- Check that your email address and phone number are correct.
- Write a cover letter when requested, using one genuine example relevant to the role.
